Samsung:Telecom Italia’s Cubovision® App brings films on-demand to smart tvs

Thanks to the new innovation introduced by Samsung Electronics and Telecom Italia it has become possible to watch over 60 titles on demand, even in 3D, on Smart TVs through the Cubovision® TV app.

The initiative is a part of the exclusive agreement reached by the two companies, and means that when a Samsung SmartTV is bought the customer will have free access to 60 films through the free Cubovision® TV app. It is a completely new entertainment experience which allows the user to access a world of services and contents accessible directly from the sofa through the remote control.

Samsung and Telecom Italia’s objective is to improve on the growing quantity and quality of the services and contents available for the new “Smart” devices and to guarantee a mesmerizing entertainment experience which draws the users in to the world of the future. Thanks to the Smart Video function present in all of Samsung’s Smart TVs it is possible access the Video on Demand (VOD) service, and easily navigate the system to view the best things from the big screen and the most successful shows on TV, transforming the television into a gateway to the best high definition entertainment available.

From June 1 till July 31 2011 clients will be able to enter the world of Cubovision® TV and discover the special offer available for all the new models of Samsung’s Smart TVs. With the purchase of one of the LED televisions starting with the 32”s (series D8000, D7000, D6750, D6540, D6510, D6500, D6320, D6120, D6100, D6000, D5500) and the PLASMAs (series D8000 and D6900) provides the client with access to 60 titles free to see through the Telecom Italia app; amongst the most popular titles are “300”, “Syriana”, “Two Weeks notice”, “Scooby-Doo! Pirates Ahoy!” and Italian movies “Ho voglia di te” and “Amore, bugie e calcetto”.

Through the use of the Cubovision® TV app a rich world content** library is accessible, a catalogue which is updated all the time, and in which even the newest titles are already available, allowing users to watch new movies like “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps”, “The Social Network”, “Tron: Legacy”, “The Chronicles of Narnia: The Voyage of the Dawn Treader”, “Salt”, “Jackass” and many, many more.

Furthermore Telecom Italia’s Cubovision® TV offers information services, which are constantly updated, dedicated to the latest news, weather forecasts, content for toddlers and children, concerts, documentaries and special sections which can be accessed on screen to help the user stay on top of all the most recent trends at any moment of the day.

Moreover the service allows the user to access the best Web TV, such as LA/.it, Corriere TV, Gazzetta TV, Class, CNBC, Class Life, Coming Soon Television, Gossip News, Flop TV and Teatro Eliseo, as well as the many themed columns dedicated to cooking, travel, cars and engines as well as the house.

Telecom Italia’s Cubovision® TV app is available for all the Samsung LED SMART TV models of the D8000, D7000, D6500, D6100 AND D5500 series, and the Plasma screen series D8000 and D6900, on the Home Theatre 3D series D6750W, D7100, D7200 and the latest 3D Blue-ray readers; series D8900, D7500 and D6900.
