For the second consecutive year, Telecom Italia S.p.A. has earned a place on the European and World Dow Jones Sustainability Indexes.
The Dow Jones Sustainability World Indexes (DJSI World) and Dow Jones STOXX Sustainability Indexes (DJSI STOXX) are among the most important benchmarks of the financial markets, listing the leading sustainable companies in Europe and around the world.
Every year companies listed on the DJSI World and DJSI STOXX indexes undergo rigorous examination, at the overall market and individual sector levels, to assess their financial performance and their success against over 50 general criteria. Specific indexes are drawn up to analyze the way a company’s corporate governance and its environmental and social policies influence the production and supply of services, and how they affect the company’s economic performance.
This year, Telecom Italia data also reflects the incorporation of TIM.
In corporate governance, Telecom Italia has already earned the endorsement of a number authorities for its initiatives and the results obtained. In April 2005, S&P’s awarded the Telecom Italia Group’s corporate governance the highest score ever given to an Italian company: 7+ (on a scale of 1 to 10). In September, the international Governance Metrics International Company gave Telecom Italia full marks for its commitment and focus on environmental and social policies, inside and outside the Group.
