Telecom Italia and the Italian Serie A League are extending their partnership into the future. The TIM brand and Lega Serie A’s official competitions (the Serie A TIM championship, the TIM Cup, the TIM SuperCup and TIM Youth Competitions) will be united for the next two seasons, and today presented their new joint logos.
The deal that extends the partnership between TIM and Serie A will continue until 30 June 2012, making it fourteen consecutive seasons together. The agreement was illustrated this morning at the League’s headquarters in Milan by Carlo Fornaro, Telecom Italia’s Director of External Relations, and Maurizio Beretta, Chairman of the Italian League of Professional Footballers, who is soon to become Chairman of the Serie A League.
“The agreement unveiled today once again demonstrates the Telecom Italia Group’s commitment to sport,” says Carlo Fornaro. “This is particularly true of football, which is an integral part of Italy’s culture and traditions, and is close to TIM brand values, as it encapsulates positive elements like social cohesion, competition and the thrill of the challenge, which are evident both on the football field and in our company’s commitment every day.”
Chairman Maurizio Beretta underlined the fact that: “This year’s Serie A starts with a glass raised to a renewal of its agreement with TIM, Italian football’s long-standing partner. New challenges await us in the immediate future. Confirmation that the Telecom Italia Group will be by our side shows that the path we are taking is the right path to achieve great things.”
