At the end of 2015,  65,864 people work at Telecom Italia Group, 52,554 of whom in Italy and 13,310 at TIM Brasil.

Such a large corporate world includes individuals who differ in terms of gender, culture, age, religion, sexual orientation and career. We consider these differences as a positive element of our corporate life.

Initiatives and activities for diversity

During 2015 we developed a number of activities and projects connected with Diversity Management, in order to promote diversity as a way of enriching our company, as well as a system to create an inclusive and open working environment.

TIM Factory - Diversity: the culture of discussion

In January 2015 in Rome we launched TIM Factory, a physical as well as concept place dedicated to the culture of discussion. Almost every day TIM Factory hosts events and initiatives of various types focused on diversity, such as  book presentations, training sessions, workgroups, performances, workshops.   During 2015 more than 60 events concerning diversity have been held at the TIM Factory.

TIM DIVERSITY WEEK: the culture of inclusion

Between 16 and 20 November 2015, we have organised a number of events and discussion opportunities for our people, aimed at disseminating and sharing awareness of diversity and inclusion: 59 physical events18 virtual events and  10 cities involved with film screenings, testimonials, meetings with associations and many other activities connected with the theme of diversity.

DIVERSITY COMMITTEE

It consists of 35 colleagues representing the various forms of diversity in the Company.
The Committee meets periodically for the purpose of distributing information and making proposals. Some Work Projects were organised in this respect for the purpose of devising and developing specific projects in this area, aboveall focused on Aging, Gender Diversity and disability.

Founded in 2012 by a group of female managers at Telecom Italian, the Noi D Telecom Association has 160 members.
It’s aim is to contribute "to the healthy and sustainable development of our Company, particularly by promoting women, their role and the managerial culture they instil" as the bylaws state.

AGE DIVERSITY

In 2015, a series of 4 meetings with role models, entitled "Generazioni a confronto" (Comparing Generations) was held in Rome, Ancona, Potenza and Genoa (in addition to the two held the previous year in Milan and Naples), which were attended by 360 employees.
In November 2015, an active learning module was launched with 15 people who have 6 months to come up with ideas and plans on the subject of ageing, one of the most critical diversities for Telecom Italia.

In September 2015, the e-learning module "Gestire la disabilità"  (Managing Diversity) was created to improve the management of disabled employees.

In October, the "IDEA-Factory" classroom training plan for all People Value managers was also set up to deal with diversity management issues.
