Energy consumption has a twofold impact on the environment. In fact, it impacts on the exploitment of natural resources and it also has heavy negative effects related to emissions to air. For this reason Telecom Italia

• has a number of projects in order to reduce its own consumptions in spite of the growing demand for broadband services which, on the contrary, would require growing energy use,
• has given rise to projects related to the increase of energy from clean sources,
• has developed a number of technologies for reducing its own energy consumption and the consumption of energy at the customer's premises.
