Fondazione Telecom Italia, together with promoter partner Oxfam Italia has launched its first international project.

Education, social issues and environmental protection are the areas of intervention at the basis of the first international project of the Fondazione Telecom Italia.

"Italy-Brazil: educate the new global citizens" encompasses the creation of an Educational Social Network that will connect, during the first (pilot) phase, 10 high school classes of the peri-urban area of Sao Paulo in Brazil with just as many classes in Tuscany, Sicily and Sardinia.

The project, that will be launched on 2 May 2013, will involve 500 students and their teachers who, together, will form a learning community and, through a multilingual platform, will develop an educational journey where students will exchange information on issues such as active citizenship, protection of environmental resources and access to new technologies.
The project's goal is, therefore, to put technology at the service of the fight against poverty.
The innovative learning methods used, as well as peer education and cooperative learning, will contribute to the training of young global citizens who will be more proactive and more aware of the interdependence of some of the issues that we face on a daily basis, such as technology justice and the environment.

The promoter and partner of this project is Oxfam Italia, an organization that is part of the Oxfam International Confederation, that has been fighting poverty in more than 90 countries around the world for many years.
