The world day for missing children on May 25 gives Telecom Italia the opportunity of communicating theService 116000 through its websites.

In Italy the Service is entrusted to the Ministry of Interior and managed by Telefono Azzurro, whereas in The European Hotline 116,000 is coordinated by Missing Children Europe (MCE), the European Federation for Missing and Sexually Exploited Children representing 28 NGOs operating in 19 European Union countries and Switzerland.

The 116000 is a service dedicated to whoever wants to report the disappearance, the sighting or the discovery of a child or adolescent, Italian or foreign, in the home country or in another European country. The number is linked to various national organizations specializing in the management of cases of disappearance; a number easy to remember, active 24 hours per day and every day, that adults and children/adolescents can call if the need arises.
