Self-assessment questionnaire on sustainability sent to the most risky suppliers during the qualification stage and, periodically, to qualified suppliers;
periodic sustainability audit conducted by third-party companies on suppliers in the classes at greatest risk. (See the following chapter in the Sustainability Report: Community/Sustainability throughout the supply chain)

KEY ISSUES: better supply conditions, better quality levels, compliance with the Code of Ethics and Conduct of TIM, rules on safety, the environment and Human Rights, improve sustainability in the supply chain.

ACTIVITIES. Corrective actions concerning the most risky suppliers to improve the service level.

ACTIONS
Exchange of information and documentation with suppliers and collaboration areas for the main suppliers on the “Vendors hub” portal, which had around 3,900 enabled vendors in 2017. (See the following chapter in the Sustainability Report: Community/Sustainability throughout the supply chain and the Vendors hub)

KEY ISSUES: transparency, improvement of communication and optimization of operating processes.

ACTIONS
Joint Audit Cooperation, an initiative which provides for sustainability audit activities conducted in the production plants of common suppliers and sub-suppliers based on an agreement signed with another 12 telecommunications operators. 89 audits in 2017, 52 of which were on TIM suppliers. (See the following chapter in the Sustainability Report: Community/Sustainability throughout the supply chain)

KEY ISSUES: check the sustainability performance level of TLC operator suppliers and sub-suppliers that are members of the JAC.

ACTIVITIES. Definition and implementation of corrective actions and ongoing improvement programmes for the suppliers/sub-suppliers involved; specific supplier training programmes carried out, particularly in order to foster a culture of sustainability.

ACTIONS
TIM and Ericsson have strengthened their collaboration in 5G technology development with a memorandum of understanding aimed at speeding up evolution towards the new network. The initiative supports the “5G for Italy” programme launched by the two companies in 2016 to create innovative projects enabled by 5G technology. (Read the press note)    

COMMITMENT. TIM, along with its industrial partners, is committed to boosting the development of an open ecosystem dedicated to research and achieving innovative projects enabled by the mobile technology of the future for solutions to be used by citizens and industries in the future “Gigabit Society”.

ACTIVITIES. Three important initiatives were launched in 2017 - Turin 5G, San Marino 5G and Bari-Matera 5G - to provide these municipalities with 5G radio mobile coverage. (Visit the page on the evolution of our Net)
