ACTIONS.
TIM also participates actively in the committees and working groups of the CEI (Italian Electrotechnical Committee). (See the following chapter in the Sustainability Report: Environment)

ACTIVITIES. Issuing of guidelines and technical standards on methods used to measure and forecast levels of exposure to electromagnetic fields issued by mobile radio systems.

Collaboration with other TLC operators on environment-related matters as part of sector associations and non-profit organizations including the European Telecommunications Network Operators’ Association (ETNO), European Telecommunications Standards Institute (ETSI), Carbon Disclosure Project (CDP), and International Telecommunication Union (ITU). COMMITMENTS.TIM is committed to reducing its environmental impact, improving its energy performances, adopting procurement policies that are sensitive to environmental issues and offering innovative technological solutions for people, businesses and the Public Administration (PA) in order to contain environmental impact.

 

ACTIVITIES.TIM’s collaboration with sector associations and non-profit organizations translates to the signing of undertakings, charters and codes which influence and guide the Group’s environmental strategy.

ACTIONS.
Participation in the Global e-Sustainability Initiative (GeSI), in particular in the working group Industry Responsibility Committee for sustainable products and services. (See the following chapter in the Sustainability Report: Environment)

 

ACTIVITIES. As an example, environmental product declarations for customers – TIM eco-friendly (Environment);

“IoRiciclo” (in italian), a sustainable initiative to collect mobile phones and smartphones for scrapping. (Environment)

ACTIONS
TIM collaborates with some municipalities in the implementation of eco-sustainability projects: REPLICATE (Firenze Smart City) and the MONICA project (Torino Smart City), SMILE project (“Torino Smart City”). (See the following chapter in the Sustainability Report Environment)
TIM Brasil. Partnership with the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovation and Communication (MCTIC) to develop solutions to mitigate and adapt to climate change. (See the following chapters in the Sustainability Report: Environment and Value Chain/Customers)

IMPEGNO. TIM is committed to research and development projects for ICT Internet of Things (IoT) solutions for Smart Cities which have a positive environmental impact.
