ACTIONS
TIM develops numerous co-design partnerships by signing MoUs with tech companies (including Ericsson, Huawei and other internationally significant companies), innovative start-ups, important European and North American universities and research centres, non-government and civil society organizations, many of which follow open innovation principles.
In Brazil. In 2017, TIM Brasil transformed TIM Lab into the first Telecom Infra Project (TIP) Community Lab in Latin America, which TIP members (Facebook, SK Telecom, Deutsche Telekom, Nokia, Intel and other companies) will use to create universal standards in relation, initially, to solutions for transport networks.  TIP is a collaborative initiative which aims to identify new approaches to the creation and deployment of telecommunications network infrastructure.  (See the following chapter in the Sustainability Report: Community/Research and Development)

COMMITMENTS. Also in 2017, both technological and business-based innovation, are confirmed as the central element to respond to the change in the technological, market and competitive context. Innovation management is overseen, with different missions, by the Innovation Department and by engineers, but involves various internal and external stakeholders of the company.
