Laura de Mariassevich

Laura de Mariassevich graduated in Piano and later in Music Teaching with highest marks with honours from the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome. She then attended specialized courses in Chamber Music, Child Vocalism and achieved the "diplomino di Canto" (intermediate diploma) in Singing. Her interest in teaching and musical dissemination led her to New York, where she took part in a seminar as Teaching Artist at theEducation Sector of the New York Philharmonic Orchestra. Then she continued her studies in "Music Therapy for the Differently Abled" at the Leonardo Vaccari Institute in collaboration with the master of "Music Therapy" of the medical faculty of the University of Padua. She went to Strasbourg, where she studied the "methodology of concerts in hospitals" prepared by the Centre de Formation de Musiciens Intervenants at the University March Bloch.

Since 2003 she has been working at the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia, in the"Education" sector, where she collaborates in the organisation and realisation of performances, lessons-concert and music workshops dedicated to children, schools and families and she is also involved on stage as a pianist, presenter, actress and singer, and participating as a speaker at some introductory lectures of the Family Concerts.

She was a lecturer in Music Education Courses for Teachers of primary schools in collaboration with the Department of Educational and School Policy of the City of Rome. She currently teaches introductory music with instruments to young children of the Compagini Giovanili (youth ensembles) of the Education Sector in the course called "JuniOrchestra Extra Vyp" and works as an accompanying pianist with the Coro di Voci Bianche (Children's Choir) of the Academy conducted by the maestro Ciro Visco.

She is the creator of theme musical projects such as: "Lessons-concert" held at the Musei del Medioevo e delle Arti e Tradizioni Popolari dell'Ente Eur SPA (Museum of the Middle Ages and the Arts and Popular Traditions of the entity Eur SPA), "Workshops on musical instruments" and Musifavole shows for young children (aged 3-6) held at the Auditorium Parco della Musica , and other educational programmes required by Institutions and public and private Companies. In collaboration with the ASL RME, she has created the musical paths specifically designed for "Differently Abled".

She deals with the introductory listening guides to the rehearsals of the Orchestra and Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia and writes the texts for the theatre programmes, brochures and educational cards linked to the activities of the Education Sector.

As a pianist, she performed as a soloist, in chamber music and as an accompanist for Cori di Voci Bianche, performing in Italy at the Auditorium Parco della Musica, the Accademia dei Lincei , the Sala Nervi (Concert in the presence of Pope John Paul II) and abroad in Vienna, Prague and Monaco of Bavaria. During the celebrations for the bicentenary of Verdi, she performed in Moscow, at the Italian Embassy, accompanying some Artists of the Choir of the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia.

For the Accademia Nazionale di Santa Cecilia she has participated in some symphonic season concerts, playing in Orchestra and she has performed with the Contemporary Ensemble, as part of the Convergence Project. She has also ventured into the role of pianist-actress in some performances including the Theatrical Piece "Dissonanze", during the "K Festival".

She recently composed the original soundtrack for the application referred to as "Gio.co. Web” and has composted and sung the song “La befana vien di Not(t)e”, used in the show with the same name staged in January at the Auditorium Parco della Musica.

For the past two years she has been the blogger of the PappanoinWeb project , which streams the concerts of the National Academy of Santa Cecilia.
