Angeles Blancas Gulin

Born in Munich to Spanish singers, Angeles Blancas Gulin completed her vocal studies with her parents and at the Scuola Superiore de Canto in Madrid. Her professional career began in 1994, when she made her debut as The Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte at the Teatro de la Zarzuela in Madrid. She is since regularly invited to perform at many of the world's most prestigious opera houses, including: the Royal Opera House-Covent Garden in London; Teatro Real in Madrid; Gran Teatre del Liceu in Barcelona; Opernhaus Zurich; Teatro La Fenice in Venice; Teatro Comunale in Bologna; Teatro dell'Opera in Rome; Teatro Regio in Turin; Teatro San Carlo in Naples; Nederlandse Opera in Amsterdam; Washington National Opera; Carnegie Hall in New York; and Teatro Colon in Buenos Aires, to name only a few.

She started her career with roles like The Queen of the Night in Die Zauberflöte, Fiorilla in Il Turco in Italia, Rosina in Il Barbiere di Siviglia, Adina in L'Elisir d’Amore, Marie in La Fille du Régiment, Gilda in Rigoletto.

Over the years, thanks to development of his voice, she has added to her repertoire: Don Giovanni; Semiramide; Lucrezia Borgia; Maria Stuarda; Marin Faliero; Luisa Miller; La Juive; I Pagliacci; La Bohème; Pelléas et Melisande; Rusalka; Turandot; La Voix Humaine; and The Turn of the Screw.

She performed: La Voix Humaine and La Cabeza del Bautista in Barcelona; Il Pirata in Marseille; Nabucco in Zurich; and La Juive in Amsterdam, Simon Boccanegra in Oviedo; Die Gezeichneten in Palermo; Aida in Basilea; Adriana Lecouvreur in London; Nabucco in Zurich; I Pagliacci in Barcellona; and Andrea Chenier in Bregenz.

Among the most significant engagements of 2010/2011: Adriana Lecouvreur at Royal Opera House in London, Nabucco at Zürich Opernhaus, Maddalena in Andrea Chénier at Bregenzer Festspiele; in 2011/2012 season, she debuted in the italian première of Lou Salomè at Fenice in Venice.
