When it comes to technology and telecommunications, "keeping up-to-date" is not only a catch phrase but also the vital element that characterises all activities. A company such as Telecom Italia must be able to understand the needs of its customers in order to create solutions and technological products that can satisfy their actual needs.

But how can we listen to everyone's needs? How can we understand the thought processes and actual needs of customers in order to create the "perfect product"? By involving customers directly!

Please fill in the questionnaire (in Italian) to become part of the Panel of Customer friends and take part in focus groups, lab tests, trials and interviews, where you can get first-hand experience and assess Telecom Italia's services, products, Apps and portals.

At the Telecom Italia labs, state-of-the-art environments equipped with modern infrastructures, customers have the opportunity to assess platforms, services and terminals.

In which planning stage is the testing phase carried out? Who is involved in these activities?

What does it involve?

The UserExperienceLab is one of Telecom Italia's labs.

Founded in 1993 in Turin, it now also has premises in Rome and Naples. It comprises a team of experts specialised in usability, ergonomics, psychology and communication.

For years, the Telecom Italia centre dedicated to usability-related issues has dealt with promoting User-Centred planning, which focuses on end customers and how they can make the best use of Telecom Italia's solutions and innovations.

Therefore, usability, i.e. the efficacy, efficiency and satisfaction involved in a service/product in a specific context of use, and the user experience are assessed with the customer: the service/product must not only be user-friendly but it must also meet a specific need and be able to excite, thrill and amaze!

Inside and…outside the Lab

Therefore, the UserExperienceLab is a lab that actively involves end users in order to learn about their behaviour, opinions, ideas and, most of all, their requirements and needs.

Users are sometimes involved as soon as the new service/product is created, the concept is defined and the goals are identified. In other cases, the users’ opinions are requested to test services/products that have already been "created" in order to highlight any critical points or issues during use.

These tests are implemented not only in labs but also in outdoor environments as a way of simulating the real context of use. The most used methods include usability tests in the lab, group discussions, expert assessments, field trials, forums and web discussions, as well as online focus groups between multiple users in different locations.

Active involvement: Test usability with us!

Do you want to be involved in a usability test? Do you want to join a focus group? Do you want to contribute to designing a new product? Or suggest ideas to create a new service? This is your chance to make yourself heard and express your opinion!

If you live in Turin, Rome or Naples and you want to become part of our "Test usability with us!" Panel and take part in our activities (interviews, focus groups, lab tests, forums, etc.), please fill in the questionnaire(in Italian)!

As soon as a new campaign for the assessment of a service/product begins, we may contact you to take part in this initiative if your profile corresponds to the one we are looking for.

We will ask you to spend a couple of hours at one of our labs. You will then receive a TIM phone recharge in exchange for your availability and time. In addition, you will get a preview of the latest innovations in the field of telecommunications and you will be able to contribute to making it more usable!

So what are you waiting for? Test usability with us!
