Ottone Maurizio Grasso

I graduated in computer science from Turin University. Since 1996 I have been engaged on internetworking, and in 2000 I was recruited by CSELT, then renamed TiLab, the innovation reality of Telecom Italia Group.

As a greedy reader and curious student, I am accustomed to range from systemist to specialist aspects of my different activities.

At first I focussed on interactive multimediality over the Internet, working in particular on CDNs and on P2P systems, and subsequently on GRID computing.

During more recent years, I have eagerly followed the rather challenging subject of video high definition, and the evolution of interactivity for digital television.

In this area I have personally taken part in standardisation works for some solutions that have now been adopted on the market.

Today I am working within the team of Future Centre researchers, and in charge in particular of Cultural Heritage scenarios. In the project we are involved with young researchers coming from various major Italian universities. This type of cooperation and knowledge and culture exchange makes the activities at San Salvador something special!
