Thanks to its partnership with Gartner, TIM has implemented a series of initiatives for the wide-scale dissemination of virtual Smart School activities, as summed up in a recent corporate newsletter.

Digital Learning Kit, Single Showcase, Scuolabook Network: these are just some of the key words guiding TIM’s commitment to promoting the overall growth of Italy’s national education system by pursuing the goals formulated by the Good Education (Buona Scuola) reform.

Education is one of the areas on which the Italian government has been working assiduously. More specifically, the Good Education reform is a core objective based upon the fundamental concept of digital learning and productive classroom dynamics. In this context, TIM has decided to invest in this sector and has also embraced head-on the ambitious transformation journey needed to rapidly grow the education system and enhance its quality. Hence, the company’s partnership with Gartner, a world leader in IT strategic consulting, which has led to the Group’s formulation and implementation of global solutions that have already engendered new opportunities and approaches to learning.

TIM has been pursuing the challenging goal of bringing to fruition a virtuous and distinctive Digital Learning model and, as presented in a newsletter, has been able to procure all the tools necessary to work towards creating a school system that is better attuned to the needs of young learners. To this end, last July, TIM bought Alfabook, a market leader in the distribution of learning resources and owner of the Scuolabook Network proprietary platform, an advanced Learning Management System which allowed to create the Digital Learning KIT, TIM’s offer to schools to support their journey towards learning and infrastructure innovation

Great Potentials with the Digital Learning KIT

The Digital Learning KIT is a service packet able to cover 4 important educational areas: Enabling Infrastructure, which includes tools to support stationary and Wi-Fi Internet connectivity and technological safety;  Learning Solutions such as applications integrated with e-book sellers and the Learning Management System; Management Solutions, such as the electronic classroom roster made available on the Cloud; and, Devices for classrooms and students, typically interactive blackboards and tablets.  This comprehensive packet can be easily accessed via a Single Showcase, an advanced portal able to activate any of the KIT services at a moment’s notice.
