1952 – The first “street” call box.

1958 – In collaboration with RAI (Radiotelevisione Italiana, that is to say the Italian broadcasting company), thephone broadcasting service is born. To supplement the black dial phone, the “Unified” table or wall model is introduced.

1962 – The first coloured telephones. The possibility of multiple phone jacks in the home. STIPEL presents the first automatic answering machine.

1964 – SIP - Società Italiana per l'Esercizio Telefonico” is born ouf of the merger of the five telephone service concession companies in “SIP Elettrica”.

1965 – ’66  – The first telephone communications satellites are launched and Italy starts the first “Mondovisione” television broadcasts via satellite.

1968 – Trials of data transmission systems.

1970 – Full automatic dialling throughout the country. Italy is the sixth country in the world to introduce this service.

1976 - The first public telephones using phone cards.
