The prize-winning e-health project MyDoctor@home
MyDoctor@Home, the e-health service developed by Telecom Italia and now being provided at the Geriatric Ward of the Molinette Hospital in Turin, has won the Poster Session dedicated to telemedicine in the Final Event of the European Health Optimum Project held in Verona in June 2009.
The service uses portable devices with Bluetooth technology to provide home monitoring of a patient’s physical condition and then transmits the data via mobile phone to a platform operating in the Telecom Italia data centres to which the health care facility has access.

2008

The mobile phone becomes an electronic wallet
The new Telecom Italia mobile payment project utilises the capacities of the SIM card. Once the customers’ bank has linked the telephone number with a credit card or prepaid debit card, the customers may make purchases, manage their current account, buy tickets and authorise credit transfers from their bank account.

2007

The first “BOOKPHONE”This is the first cell phone in the world with a removable display, thanks to the original Polymer Vision technology integrating in mobile phones a screen larger than the phone itself, providing the reader with a contrast similar to that of printed paper. Smaller than the average cell phone, it is equipped with a screen that can be increased to a size of up to 13 centimetres; because of the flexibility of the polymers, it can easily be reinserted in the mobile phone after use.
