Telecom Italia takes ultra fast broadband technology to SMEs with Tuttofibra

11 February

New connection services based on the next-generation fibre optic network and dedicated to professionals and SMEs are now available in seven cities. The Tuttofibra Impresa Semplice offer, which boasts transmission speeds of up to 30 MBps for downloads and 3 MBps for uploads, allows small businesses to use high-performance, technologically advanced services and facilitates access to cloud computing solutions that can improve efficiency and competitiveness. This offer joins the fibre optic solutions of “Nuvola Italiana” (Italian Cloud) that are already available for large companies.

Launch of TIM’s new “Sempre Sicuro” (Always Secure) service to protect smartphones and tablets from theft and damage and to keep all data secure

“Sempre Sicuro” (Always Secure) is the new service by TIM to protect smartphones and tablets from theft and damage and to keep all data secure This solution enables TIM customers to have their smartphone or tablet replaced in just two working days and have the new device delivered to their home or office, at a specified address. TIM’s “Sempre Sicuro” covers all accidental damage, including that caused by dropping the device in water or a broken display screen, as well as all technical malfunctions. In the event of damage or malfunction, the device will be collected when the replacement is delivered. If the device is stolen, the SIM will be replaced free of charge.

TIM Brasil launches TIMmusica: an application allowing users to access millions of tracks at low prices

In a short period of time, the company registered over 500,000 TIMmusic downloads via Google Play, in addition to the applications already bundled on Android devices sold by the company. Over 6 million tracks were downloaded in the same period.

Telecom Italia introduces innovative solutions for health, security and the territory to promote the digitization of the Public Administration

Telecom Italia presents Information & Communication Technology solutions designed for central and local Public Administrations, as part of its Impresa Semplice offer, at the PA 2013 Forum in Rome.

The solutions, which are provided from the cloud computing platform “Nuvola Italiana” (Italian Cloud), range from the virtualization of documents and administrative and health certifications to graphometric signatures from the integrated platform for eco-sustainable “smart cities” to urban monitoring and safety systems, right through to digital learning and teaching services.

Telecom Italia launches “Roaming Tutto Incluso” (all-inclusive roaming), the first “disposable” solution for business clients

12 June

Telecom Italia launches its “Roaming Tutto Incluso” service from Impresa Semplice for business clients, offering tariffs discounted by up to 60% for calls and texts abroad, as well as 150 MB of roaming data all over the world, and a 50% discount on international calls made from Italy.

This service is provided in “disposable” format so that users can turn it on when they travel, after which it will remain active for only 30 days from the date it was activated. This service meets the needs of people who travel abroad for business purposes for periods of over one week.

Telecom Italia launches “Tutto”: internet and unlimited calls from home to all mobile phones

10 September

The new offer “Tutto” allows unlimited calls from home to all fixed lines and all national mobile lines with no connection fees.

A package is proposed with this offer at a flat rate, which includes fixed line and related services for fixed and mobile lines, thus allowing customers to call and browse the internet without limits and without additional costs.

As in other Telecom Italia campaigns, Chiara, winner of the last X Factor contest, presented the daily use of the new offer in a TV commercial announcing the launch of the “Tutto” offer.

Telecom Italia launches new app that converts smartphones into home phones

7 October

The smartphone, connected via Wi-Fi, will continue to function and preserve its mobile phone characteristics.

The new app is free and available on Android and iOS stores (Google Play and Apple Store), can be downloaded by each family member and be used with the “Ultra Internet Fibra Ottica” fixed line number.

Telecom Italia: present during Games Week con Cubogiochi® and l’ultra internet fibra ottica

For Games Week, one of the most important videogame events, Telecom Italia presented the new platform Cubogiochi® and broadband services over the fibre-optic network Ultra Internet allowing gaming enthusiasts to further engage in online challenges.

Cubogiochi® is the new mobile gaming platform giving access to the best on-demand and subscription games from tablets and smartphones.

The broadband service over fibre-optic Ultra Internet will give videogame players a better experience and have the ability to use more devices simultaneously (PC, tablet and smartphone). The Ultra Internet Fibra Ottica service is already available in 33 Italian cities.

Telecom Italia and Visa Europe: agreement to enable mobile payments

12 November

The agreement with Visa Europe will enable mobile payment services to the over 31 million TIM customers thanks to NFC technology (Near Field Communications), already tested in 2012. The service will allow customers to use selected smartphones to make contactless transactions at enabled point of sale terminals across Europe.

The Visa contactless payments service will be the core of the TIM-branded "mobile wallet”, an open digital wallet created by TIM to host and support services from a wide range of partners including financial institutions, retailers, transport and public utility companies.

To make easy everyday payments such as bus and underground tickets, newspapers, books, magazines or coffee, customers will simply tap their smartphone on the dedicated contactless POS terminal. Purchases above €25 can also be made contactless by simply using a passcode to be inserted directly on the mobile phone.

TIM’s ultrabroadband service LTE (4G) reaches the cities of Cremona, Ravenna and Varese

13 December

Cremona was the last city reached by the last generation mobile network 4G, which allows a connection of up to 100 MBps. Previously, TIM had brought 4G network to Ravenna and Varese.

At the national level, the LTE network was present in 518 municipalities covering 46% of the population at the end of 2013, aimed to reach 80% by 2016.

Telecom Italia creates a new mobile app for the Italian Pavilion of Expo2015

23 December

Telecom Italia created a new mobile app for Android tablets and smartphones giving access to information and multimedia content related to the Italian pavilion of Expo 2015.

The new app provides an innovative “virtual tour” through augmented reality and visual recognition technologies applied to the model of the structure. The model was exhibited in Rome until 15 January 2014 at the Palazzo del Quirinale as part of the exhibition "Italian Pavilion. From the project to Expo Milano 2015”

Foggia, Salerno, Latina, Lucca are among the latest cities added to the new generation fibre-optic network NGAN in 2013

31 December

In 2013, the city of Foggia saw the launch of the construction of ultra-broadband services, which will give access to innovative services to citizens and businesses at connection speeds starting at 30 MBps.

Foggia, Salerno, Latina and Lucca were the latest cities reached as part of the plans for development of Telecom Italia’s national fibre-optic network of new generation NGAN (Next Generation Access Network). By 2016, 600 cities and more than 50% of the population will be part of the network.
