After working in the Assurance department in Open Access, Emanuela started a new job, in another location and in another capacity, taking with her extensive experience of these years: doing Assurance is a way of being, of thinking, of acting.

I left the old office one winter afternoon, with slow and heavy steps: behind me I left many years full of faces and voices, with every pace I took I recalled a memory and when I arrived at the turnstile to have my time card stamped for the last time, I realised that I had no room left in my heart and in my mind even to find my car in the car park. So I left that street and the tall pine trees, the two small blocks of flats and the little courtyard, with our tower in the centre. Telecom Italia and Tim: these are the two signs that are visible from Rome's orbital motorway. The tower: a connecting link between the sky and us.

I remember when I went up it for the first time: on reaching the top I held on tight to the door handle and did not dare move for several seconds. I liked observing it in the morning, in its first hours, or at sunset as the seasons changed: it seemed the queen of space, with the clouds, the colours and the flocks of birds surrounding it.

Professionally speaking, I was born, grew up and was trained in Customer Assurance and this is much more than a habit for me, I believe it has become another part of me, which belongs to me and will accompany me, even if I work in other fields; I continue to get up in the morning and look at the sky, starting to prepare myself for the working day with the thought that even the rain or a sultry sun will bring many calls and everything that follows from them. Assurance comes within Open Access as culture to anthropology. The days passed quickly between customers, breakdowns, joint interventions, fibre, stock control and a thousand emails and indicators, in a continuous interchange of competences and from various sources. Efficiency, productivity, costs, revenues, repeatability, failure rates, urgent changes and increasingly knowledgeable and demanding customers. Assurance is a lightning bolt which cuts through all sectors of Telecom: at the centre there is always and must always be THE CUSTOMER. The powerful experience which made me grow, however, including as a person, was connected with my role as Team Leader. Relations are the starting point for creating a relationship of collaboration and trust with others. I have met marvellous people, to whom I am grateful.

Several months ago I started a new job, in another location and in another capacity. I take with me what I am, with the little large baggage of these years: doing Assurance is a way of being, of thinking, of acting.
