Evaluation of the potential
The methods of evaluating and developing potential constitute important instruments that aid the process of enhancing human capital and are meant to help employees develop individual professionality, in accordance with the motivations and characteristics of the individual and the needs of the company.
Following this philosophy, Telecom Italia, since the 80’s, has been the first Italian company to introduce the methods of potential evaluation as another instrument to manage and develop human resources.
This method of evaluation helps generate a better understanding of individual characteristics and helps identify opportunities for development, improvements and training aimed at reinforcing the professionalism of employees and orientate their professional development in a coherent way, aligned to their individual qualities.
In order to guarantee an evaluation of upmost reliability, the Assessment Centre methodology is used: this method is internationally acknowledged for its predicting validity.
The method includes the use of a series of various observational instruments chose according to the specific target. The tests that are used include:
- Group dynamics (dynamic role playing, set roles, negotiations)
- Individual tests (management tests, preferential style test, in-basket, motivational interviews).
