A concert dedicated to the Pope and directed by Riccardo Muti will be streamed live at telecomitalia.com

The event will be broadcast live starting at 6pm on May 11th and will be held in the Paolo VI room within the Vatican to celebrate the seventh anniversary of the Pope’s pontificate.

The concert has been offered by Giorgio Napolitano, President of the Republic of Italy, and dedicated to Pope Benedict XVI. It will take place at 6pm on Friday 11th May in the Paolo VI room within the Vatican and will be streamed live at www.telecomitalia.com. The event has been organized by the Opera theatre in Rome and its partner Telecom Italia.

Internet users can follow the concert directed by musical conductor Riccardo Muti on the web in live streaming. The program includes an opening speech by Giorgio Napolitano followed by the execution of classical masterpieces such as Antonio Vivaldi’s Magnificat and Giuseppe Verdi’s Stabat Mater and Te Deum. The event will conclude with a closing speech by the Pope. Internet users will also be able to comment the event on a dedicated live chat and interact through Telecom Italia’s Twitter and Facebook channels. The streaming of the concert will be available on demand at telecomitalia.com until 31st December 2012.
