Films, cartoons and sport: Telecom Italia Media's new digital terrestrial offering for autumn 2007

On August 30, LA7 Cartapiù presents the second leg of the Sampdoria v. Hajduk Spalato UEFA Cup match

Cartapiù LA7, Telecom Italia Media's digital terrestrial pay-per-view channel, unveils its new range of programming to mark the start of the new TV season.

LA7 Cartapiù has lined up a schedule packed with an exciting range of events for sports fans and the whole family: football, two- and four-wheeled racing, golf, movies, and cartoons for adults and children.

This year, LA7 Cartapiù football focuses on a new selection of Italy’s Serie A TIM championship teams. The channel is carrying every league match played by Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Palermo, Catania, Cagliari and – new this year – Reggina, as well as all home games and matches played on Cartapiù grounds by Parma, Udinese, Empoli and Siena.

For the third year running, the channel’s Italian league football coverage includes Areagol, a show presented by Roberto Bernabai that brings the latest pre-match news and post- match roundups and analysis from football grounds around the country.

LA7 Cartapiù also keeps an eye on European football, starting on Thursday, August 30 with live coverage of the second-leg UEFA cup tie between Sampdoria and Hajduk Spalato.

True football fans will also want to tune in to weekly international football show Golissimo, dedicated to top international league action from Brazil, Argentina, France, Holland and Germany.

Fans of other sports can look forward to the 2007 golf PGA Tour, and this year’s popular race coverage of two- and four-wheeled competitions AMA Superbike and  Motocross,  Superstar, DTM , Formula 3  Euro Series and NASCAR.

LA7 Cartapiù's new season offers much more than just sport. This year sees the arrival of a season of popular cult horror movies, including the Japanese originals of The Ring, Ikisudama, Persona and Huzumaki.

Cartapiù is also the place to go for animation, with Manga for older kids and cartoons for younger viewers. The channel is at the forefront of technological development, pushing back the barriers of educational interactivity with its English-language Edutainment courses.

All of this content – and much more to be unveiled during the new season – is available via an activated LA7 Cartapiù Smart Card. This year, for a new initial price of €21, Smart Cards offer 30 days’ unlimited viewing. After this initial period, customers can either purchase programmes singly, at the indicated price, or sign up to one of the following good value Cartapiù packages:

The Pacchetto Mese (Monthly Package), at just €19, offers 30 days access to all Cartapiù programming, including football.
The Pacchetto Campionato (Championship Package) is ideal for football fans. For just €99, it offers access to all Serie A TIM matches broadcast on LA7 Cartapiù, including home and away matches played by Fiorentina, Sampdoria, Palermo, Catania, Cagliari and Reggina, and all other content carried on Cartapiù.

All events may also be purchased on a one-off basis at the indicated price.

LA7 Cartapiù Smart Cards are on sale at electronics stores and newsstands. Special packages and top-ups can be bought at Sisal outlets, PuntoLIS Lotto-affiliated tobacconists, Puntoricarica outlets, Cogetech outlets and other authorized resellers.

Once again this year, LA7 Cartapiù has a special package for bars and public commercial concerns that wish to broadcast football matches and other LA7 Cartapiù content on site: LA7 Cartapiù Open costs just €600 (excluding VAT) for the entire season.
