Otto e Mezzo returns on September 26 with Ritanna Armeni and Giuliano Ferrara. LA7’s politics and cultural affairs show is back for its sixth season in its regular slot, every evening from Monday to Friday at 8.30 p.m.

This is the third year that the presenters have worked together. Last year’s run was a showcase forum for political debate during major elections for Italy’s parliament, local government and Head of State.

Otto e Mezzo is one of LA7’s longest-running shows. The presenters have the gravitas to attract high-profile guests who come to debate the most pressing topics of the day. Over the last six years the show has become a leading soapbox for politicians, pundits and commentators.

Ritanna Armeni and Giuliano Ferrara return with their hallmark enthusiasm to lead in-depth probes into the hot topics people care about in Italy and around the globe.

This year’s broadcasts will cover upcoming clashes between the Italian government and the opposition (the budget, the Lebanon mission, the Middle East in the light of Iran’s nuclear threat, the challenge of Jihadi terrorism), and address big issues like bioethics and philosophy.

The show has a new signature tune and a new look inspired by the workings of time and the human mind.

Last Spring, Otto e mezzo set audience records of almost four million viewer contacts on average per episode. Otto e Mezzo’s three election specials in March and April exceeded a 5% average share (on April 3), totting up 9 million viewer contacts on March 14.
