All Louis Vuitton Act 10 and 11 races broadcast live

Forza Sette
2 p.m., May 11-21,
(repeated every night at 1:20 a.m.)

Yacht races also broadcast on Alice Home TV, the Rosso Alice portal and TIM mobile phones

The thrills and spills of the America’s Cup are being broadcast live and exclusively on the LA7 channel. After last year’s popular live coverage of the races leading up to the Louis Vuitton Cup, the Telecom Italia Media Group TV station is following the progress of Italy’s three teams in the waters off Valencia between May 11 and 21, as they line up for the next set of match races. Once again, La7 confirms its position as the sailing network in Italy. The races can also be viewed on Alice Home TV, Rosso Alice and TIM on mobile phones.

Now in its second year, LA7’s Forza Sette is a daily show hosted by Paolo Cecinelli from Valencia. From Thursday, May 11 to Sunday, May 21, the channel is broadcasting 4½ hours of live race coverage every day between 2 p.m. and 6:30 p.m., with repeats from 1:20 a.m.

On May 17 and 18, when no races are scheduled, LA7 is running two live Forza Sette afternoon specials (4 p.m.), when skippers from several teams will talk us through the match race highlights and turning points.

LA7’s coverage of the event has been enhanced this year to become more exclusive and more personalized. Improved audio and visual coverage now feature full views of both yacht race areas. Twice as many cameras are being used as last year: ten on the water, six on land at the dock, plus cameras installed on board yachts (at the foot of the mast, with audio channels open throughout the entire race).

Sailing fans have exclusive footage from every possible angle of every moment of race action. This includes “the sound of the America’s Cup”: the amazing soundtrack that accompanies big yacht races – crew member voices, the sound of the wind in the sails and the waves crashing against the hulls.

Revised graphics and new film clips are being deployed in this year’s Forza Sette to give inside information on the rules and techniques at different stages of each race, including explanations of sailing terms and different crew roles on board. This will help more and more fans to get a good understanding of this exciting sport. Fans can also e-mail questions and comments to forzasette@la7.it.

Forza Sette’s Virtual Eye technology once again provides an ideal view for race highlights, including split-screen sweeps of multiple race areas.

Since the recent races at Trapani, Forza Sette and the network’s other sailing shows have been using the latest technological advances, including action replays that reveal the smallest detail of events, manoeuvers and controversial moments, and slow motion replays of the most thrilling action, once again offering new fans an opportunity to get to grips with this exciting sport.

Alongside Forza Sette, LA7 is also running other sailing programs. Alla Conquista della Coppa is a magazine show that goes out at 9 a.m. on Sunday, May 14 and Sunday, May 21, showcasing the stars of the America’s Cup and featuring moments from the history of the world’s top sailing competition.
