Olivetti operates in home and office products, specialist banking applications, retail, and in automated IT systems for gaming, lotteries and electoral systems. The company operates in 83 markets around the globe, particularly in Europe and the Far East.
Olivetti is the world leader in bank counter peripherals and a top European office products manufacturer specializing in digital printing systems and ink-jet products. Olivetti is the only company in Europe – and indeed one of just six worldwide – with its own proprietary ink-jet technology, which the company uses in multifunction consumer and business printers and photocopiers that blend ease-of-use with attractive design.
Recent new Olivetti products for the retail market include the Nettuna range of high-performance cash registers, featuring an attention to detail and design that enables them to fit into any and every sales environment. The portfolio extends beyond products to include systems, solutions and services for point-of-sale automation, one-stop POS systems, and compact integrated touchscreen work stations for payment stations, along with the software required to manage front-store services such as web-based payment applications, money transfers and mobile phone top-ups.
In July 2009 was launched the Document Hub, an innovative set of advanced document management applications and technologies, provided in the form of multi-client services on an SaaS basis, for business organisations and government agencies.
Olivetti has four manufacturing plants and five research and development centres in Italy and Switzerland.
